Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) better known by her real title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. In October 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her EP Pho. The EP was where she was recognized. Her debut album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox posted her songs online in 2012 after she released her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her own single Bound, as well as the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. On 21st of July the 21st of July in 2015 Omen included her in Elephant Eyes' track Sweat It Out. J. Cole asked her to work with him on Rihanna's references. Then, later in the season, the music circulated around Dreamville. The official signing ceremony was held with Dreamville Records on 8 December. Backseat was a track she performed with Cozz on her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The 21st of October, 2016, she released her debut EP called Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was accompanied by EarthGang. in 2018, the singer-songwriter appeared on two tracks with EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, as well as Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. The music video later released in September. She released her second single called Grampa on the 9th of November. On November 13 two new singles, titled The No One and pedigree. Shea Butter Baby is a song that she performed alongside Cole on the soundtrack to Creed II on November 16th. It was then released as a single on its own in February 2019 to coincide with her debut album. A music video was released on February 20, 2019 to accompany the track. Within one week, it had over 3,000,000 views. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK in the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
